The Envelope of Your Home

Where comfort, bills and curb appeal meet

Windows and siding are the working skin of a house. They are what stands between a Texas summer and your air conditioner, between driving rain and your wall framing, and between your home and every first impression it makes from the street. When they age out, you feel it three ways at once: rooms near the glass get uncomfortable, energy bills creep up, and the exterior starts to look tired no matter how fresh the landscaping is. Garcia's Construction replaces and repairs both, as stand-alone projects or as part of a larger exterior refresh with painting and trim.

Window replacement built around cooling season

In most of the country windows are about keeping heat in. Here the job is keeping heat out. Replacement windows with double-pane insulated glass and Low-E coatings reflect a large share of solar heat before it enters the room, which is why the difference is most obvious in west-facing rooms on summer afternoons. New windows also seal the drafts old frames have developed, glide and lock the way windows should, and cut street noise noticeably. We install to square, shim and insulate the frame gap, and flash and caulk the exterior so water has no path in, because a window install is a waterproofing job first.

Siding that stands up to the Gulf Coast

Wood siding and trim in this climate fight a constant battle with moisture, sun and insects, and the bottom edges usually lose first. Fiber cement siding has become the standard across West Houston because it takes our weather without rotting, holds paint several times longer than wood, and keeps crisp lines that make a whole house look newer. We install fiber cement and matching trim, and we also do honest section repairs: cutting out rot, replacing damaged boards, caulking and painting to blend, when the rest of the wall has life left in it.

Repair or replace, with straight answers

Not every tired exterior needs the full treatment. Sometimes two elevations of siding, five windows and a paint job get you ninety percent of the result for a fraction of the cost. Because we work across all the exterior trades, our quote can lay the options side by side: what repair costs now, what full replacement costs, and what each means for the next ten years. You choose with the numbers in front of you.

FAQ

Windows & Siding FAQs

Are new windows worth it in the Houston climate?
Air conditioning dominates energy use here, and single-pane or failed-seal windows are a major heat leak. Double-pane windows with Low-E glass reduce the solar heat coming through, make rooms near the glass livable in August, and quiet the house. The exact payback depends on your current windows, which we can assess when we quote.
How do I know my window seals have failed?
Fogging or moisture between the panes is the classic sign; that window has lost its insulating gas and is now performing close to single-pane. Drafts, sashes that will not stay up, and rotted frames are other signs a window is at end of life.
What siding do you recommend around Katy?
Fiber cement (commonly known by the HardiePlank brand) has become the west side standard for good reason: it resists rot, insects and heat, holds paint far longer than wood, and handles storms well. We also repair and replace wood siding and trim where matching the existing house makes more sense.
Can you replace just the damaged siding sections?
Yes. Woodpecker holes, rot at the bottom edges, and storm-damaged sections can be cut out and replaced, then caulked and painted to blend with the existing wall. If damage is widespread, we will show you the honest math on section repair versus a larger replacement.
Do new windows and siding need HOA approval?
Often, in the master-planned communities around Katy and Cinco Ranch, especially if the color or style changes. Like-for-like replacements are usually simpler. Approval is between you and your HOA, and we provide the product details you need to submit.
What does window replacement or siding work cost?
It depends on window count and sizes, the frame and glass options you choose, or for siding the square footage and how much repair the wall needs underneath. We measure and give you a free written quote for your actual house.
